About Me
I am a rising junior from Austin, Texas. I am a recently declared Applied Mathematics major and a life long Disney fan. It has been five years since I last visited Disney World, so I am very excited for the opportunity to go back to ride my favorite rides and visit my favorite sites. When I heard about this May Experience on a tour of Furman, I knew I had to take advantage of this opportunity. Math and the Mouse is the perfect way for me to explore my interests because it combines two things I am passionate about: Disney and Math. I love all things Disney: the movies, the characters, the music, and the parks. I just love that feeling I get when I first see Cinderella’s castle as I enter the park and I feel like I am a kid all over again. I have been to Disneyland and Disney World, each twice, and I like to think of myself as a Disney expert. While I do love Disney more than anything, I was also drawn to the math aspect of the trip. Math has always been my favorite subject in school and I am very interested to see all the different ways in which mathematics can be applied to one of my favorite places on earth. I hope to use this trip as a way to explore the career opportunities available to a math major and I can’t wait for all the magical memories I will make along the way!

Favorite Disney Eats
Although I don’t remember it that well, my favorite dining experience was the Meet the Characters Breakfast on my first trip when I was six years old. It was so fun taking pictures with my favorite princesses and characters and seeing how many autographs my sister and I could collect. Something else that I have found from my past trips to Disney and embarrassed to admit is that pink cotton candy is a must. My family loved riding Tower of Terror and I was really sacred to ride it for the first time. In order to get me to go on the ride with them they promised they would buy me cotton candy immediately after and for each time that I rode the ride. I think that is why I love the ride now and no longer need to be bribed, but I still like getting a cotton candy every time I visit. Lastly, I am looking forward to trying the food in the World Showcase because I like trying new things and the last time we visited Epcot we ate at two different restaurants and they were both so good!!

Favorite Disney Attractions
The part I love most about visiting Disney World is riding all the rides in all of the parks. I absolutely love riding roller coasters so I am definitely looking forward to attractions like Space Mountain, Splash Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, Expedition Everest and Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster, even if I have to wait in hour-long lines. I am also looking forward to rides that I still enjoy from my early trips to Disney, like Haunted Mansion and Peter Pan’s Flight, which was the very first ride my parents took me on. Finally, I can’t wait to visit the new Fantasyland and see Beauty and the Beast’s castle since Belle is my favorite Disney Princess and those additions were made after my most recent trip to WDW.
